Meet Emmaline Hoffmeister

Emmaline Hoffmeister is the creative force behind Paperbound, a lifestyle brand built around the art of intentional living through beautiful, functional journaling. With a passion for thoughtful design, reflection, and meaningful connection, Emmaline developed Paperbound to inspire others to write their stories, set mindful goals, and celebrate the sacred in everyday life. Each journal is designed with purpose—blending elegance with utility to support clarity, growth, and spiritual stillness.

Before launching Paperbound, Emmaline was best known for her work as a historical fiction author. She has published eight novels and nine short stories in various publications worldwide. Left Behind marked her debut in Christian fiction and her return to novel writing after a decade-long pause.

Emmaline holds degrees in accounting and psychology from Central Washington University and Brigham Young University–Idaho. She spent 12 years working as a fraud investigator and as an accountability, legal compliance, financial, and performance auditor before choosing to become a stay-at-home mom. She launched her writing and publishing career in 2009, when her debut novel Longbourn’s Unexpected Matchmaker was released. The book has remained one of her most beloved bestsellers for over 15 years.

A lover of story, structure, and scenic places, Emmaline’s creativity is shaped by her travels and by the rugged beauty of North Idaho, where she now lives with her husband and two sons. When she’s not designing or writing, you’ll likely find her walking along the rivers and lakes near home, dreaming up new ideas with a journal in hand.
